Syncing a Device - Workstation

The information in this article pertains to merchants who have signed up for Helcim from June 1, 2020, onward. If you are using Helcim's Legacy system, please click here.

Once you have downloaded the Helcim Payments app on your laptop or desktop computer, you are ready to connect the Helcim Card Reader with the Helcim Payments app.

Begin by opening up the Helcim Payments app. Next, log into the app using your Helcim username and password, these are the same credentials that you used to set up your account originally. Tap on Log In when you’re done entering the information. You can now begin configuring your device. Enter your Device Nickname and PIN, the PIN will allow you to log back into the app faster and bypass the need to enter your password. If you have already created a PIN for your account, you will not be prompted to create another one.

Once you have entered your information, click on Save.
You will see a confirmation screen confirming the device has been saved, click on Got it to continue.

Now you can connect your Helcim Payments app with the Helcim Card Reader. To get started, click on Connect.

If selecting Do it Later, you can access the card reader set up wizard by selecting the terminal icon at the bottom of your dashboard. Next, select ‘Connect’ under the Helcim Card Reader 2nd Gen model Next, select if you would like to connect the Helcim Card Reader via USB or Bluetooth.

USB Connection

Once you see the Connection Established notice, click on Next.

The app will now configure the Helcim Card Reader, this may take a few minutes to complete.
Once this process is complete you will see a confirmation screen and you can select Go to Dashboard to begin accepting payments.

Bluetooth Connection

Unless you require mobile capability, we recommend connecting the Helcim Card Reader via USB for a more consistent connection.

Once you have completed the USB Configuration, you can switch your connection type to Bluetooth if needed. To do this, click on Connect via Bluetooth on the bottom of the USB Configuration Complete screen.
You will be prompted to select the device you wish to pair your computer to. Click here to find your device's serial number. After selecting the device you want to connect to, click on Connect.
You will then see a prompt on your computer to confirm the connection request. Ensure the number displayed on your computer matches the one seen on your Helcim Card Reader and click Connect The app will now complete the setup.
Once connected you will see the Bluetooth Configuration Complete screen, from here you can select Go to Dashboard.
