Managing Product Add-Ons

You can create Product Add-Ons to allow customers to customize their orders by selecting additional options.

You can create Add Ons to let customers edit and customize their orders. For example, Product Add-Ons can be used to specify side dishes when placing a food order online, or to add additional accessories or products to a retail order. Product Add-Ons are added at the category level in your Helcim account and can then be edited for each individual product assigned to that category.

Product Add-Ons are not currently available for Hosted Payment Pages or the Mobile Point-of-Sale.


Creating Product Add Ons for an Existing Category

You need to create a Category or Sub Category before you can create Product Add-Ons. For assistance, please visit our support article here.

If you have already created categories for your Helcim account, you can create Product Add-Ons by clicking on Products and Categories then select the Category that you would like to create Product Add-Ons for.
Once you have selected the Category you want to edit you will see the additional Category menu options on the right-hand side of your screen. Select Add-Ons from this menu.

You can now enter details for your Product Add-Ons. Click on More Add-Ons to continue adding more options.

Name: Use the text box to enter the name of the Add On.
Default Price: If there is an additional charge for the Add On, enter it here.
Once you have entered all of the different Add On options you want, click on Save to apply your changes. You will now be able to edit these options for each product assigned to this category.


Editing Product Add-Ons for Specific Products

When you add a product to a category that has Product Add-Ons you will be able to edit each Add-On option for that specific product.

To edit Add-Ons for a specific product, click on Products, Product List, then select the product from your list. Next, select Add-Ons from the Product option menu on the right-hand side of your screen. On the Add-Ons screen, you will see all of the available Add-Ons for the category that has been assigned to that product. Price: You can edit the price for the add-on for this specific product.
Max Per Product: Add the number of times a customer can add this Add-On to the product when making a purchase.
Available: Toggle the radio button On to add this option to the product, leave the radio button Off if you do not want the Add-On to show for this specific product.

If you want to add additional Product Add-On options you need to go back to the Product Category and edit the Add-Ons for the entire category.


Deleting Product Add-Ons

If you want to delete a Product Add-On, click on Products and Categories, then select the category you want to edit. Next, select Add-Ons from the Category menu on the right-hand side of your screen. To delete an Add-On, hover your cursor on the right-hand side of the Default Price text box until a little X appears. Then, click on the X. The Add-On will now be deleted. Click on Save to apply your changes.
