Creating a Point-of-Sale Grid

The information in this article pertains to merchants who have signed up for Helcim from June 1, 2020, onward. If you are using Helcim's Legacy system, please click here.

You can create point-of-sale grids to easily pull up popular products or find products that are on sale when customers are ready to check out.

You are able to create and edit your point-of-sale grids directly from the Helcim Payments app, or by logging into your Helcim account from a browser.

Creating a Point-of-Sale Grid from a Browser

To create a new point-of-sale grid from a web browser, first log into your Helcim account, then click on App and Point-of-Sale Grid.

If you have created an grids they will show on this page, otherwise click on New Grid to create a new POS grid.

Next, enter the details for your grid.
Grid Name: Use the text box to enter an identifying name for the grid so you know what products it contains
Horizontal Cells: Enter a number between 1-8 for the number of products you want displayed horizontally
Vertical Cells: Enter a number between 1-8 for the number of products you want displayed vertically
+ Buttons: Use the + buttons to add products to fill our your grid

Click on Save when you're done to create the grid.

You can now view and edit the grid you just created from the Point-of-Sale Grid page.

Creating a Point-of-Sale Grid in the Helcim Payments App

To begin creating a point-of-sale grid in the Helcim Payments app click on Dashboard from your top menu. Next, click on App then Point-of-Sale Grid from the menu on the left-hand side of your screen. You can now view any of your existing Point-of-Sale Grids and make edits to them, or click on New Grid to great a new option. After you click on New Grid you can customize the options for the grid by entering the Grid Name and number of horizontal and vertical cells into the text boxes. The largest grid you can make is 8 X 8 and the smallest grid is 1 X 1. As you edit the grid options, you will be able to preview what the grid will look like. After you have specified the size of your grid, click on the + sign in the middle of each box to add a product. This will open up a search box that you can use to find products saved in your existing product catalog. You can search for the product number or name. Once you have found the product you want to add to the grid, simply click on it to select the product. Repeat these steps until you have added all the products you want to have featured in your grid. Once you are done, click Save in the top right-hand corner of your screen to create the grid.
