Generating a New Configuration Token

The information in this article pertains to merchants who have signed up for Helcim from June 1, 2020, onward. If you are using Helcim's Legacy system, please click here.

If you need to generate a new configuration token to sync the Helcim Payments app with the Helcim Card Reader follow these steps.

First, log into your Helcim account and click on App and Devices.

Next, select the device you need to generate a new configuration token for from the list of available devices. You can select the device by simply clicking on it.

This will open the App Device menu on the right-hand side of your screen. Select Actions in the top right-hand corner of your screen, then Disable Device under the Actions menu.
The screen will reload as the device is disabled, now click on Actions again and select Enable Device to re-enable the device and generate a new Configuration Token.
You will now see the new token on the Device Overview page under Config Token. Copy and paste this new configuration token into your Helcim Payments app.

If your card reader is not set to USB setup you can reset the connection type by clicking on the Helcim Card Reader icon in the app. The screen will show trying to connect to card reader via Wifi wait for 15 seconds and a button that says Reset to USB will appear. Click this and the app will search for a USB connection instead of using Wifi.
